I was struggling to hit anything. Turns out, it wasn't my settings. It was the darn mousepad. Seriously, it was like trying to ice skate on sandpaper. So I upgraded to a new pad and a new mouse that was really great, and suddenly everything clicked. I felt like a real Slice Master of frags! Sharing this in case it helps someone else.
